Rolling Sparks is an Ash of War added in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. It’s a powerful ability on its own, but when combined with the Lightning Perfume Bottle and the right loadout, it can provide devastating damage to bosses. Ash of War: Rolling Sparks item descriptions

The Ash of War: Rolling Sparks’ item description reads:

“This Ash of Wars grants no affinity to an armament, but imparts the following skill:

Rolling Sparks: Scatter perfumed powder before you, triggering rolling explosions of deadly sparks. The properties of the spark are determined by the bottle used.

Usable on perfume bottles.”

Where to find the Ash of War: Rolling Sparks

You can find the Ash of War: Rolling Sparks in Scadu Altus just southeast of the entrance to the Shadow Keep legacy dungeon. The easiest way to reach it is by starting at the Highroad Cross Site of Grace and then heading north to a large encampment. If you haven’t defeated the Furnace Golem in this area yet, you may want to do so.

To the east of the encampment are multiple smaller Perfumer encampments. High above one of these is a flying scarab that can be easily missed if you don’t know to look for it. When you spot it (using the image below to pinpoint its location if needed), use a ranged attack to bring it down.

When the flying scarab lands on the ground and perishes, you’ll automatically receive the Ash of War: Rolling Sparks as a reward. When you’re ready to apply it to one of your Perfume Bottles, go to Roundtable Hold and speak with Blacksmith Master Hewg.
